Business Goals for 2018

Business Goals for 2018

The excitement of winter and the new year have worn off a little now, but not my excitement for what this year holds and how I've planned well for it.  Sharing my vision and my personal goals this week has been delightful for me.  I always split my goals for the year between personal and business.  Sometimes, they overlap because one part of my life often affects the others, but having specific business goals provides so much clarity, focus, and growth-potential.

Business Planning Powersheets Goals

I have fewer business goals this year than previously; they're meaningful but big which will allow me to pivot my "sub-goals" as my seasons change. I love not having the pressure of creating a goal for an entire year. Having "sub-goals" that I accomplish quickly also creates great momentum to grow beyond what I can even imagine during these first few days of the year!

2018 Goals for Business

Manage and grow SSE for the future.  My business is almost in it's fifth(!) year (oh-so-grateful!).  The first few years came with challenges, trying to gain footing, wondering if I'd even make it, and just trying to survive.  Last year, my goal was just to keep it alive while keeping a baby alive, too.  We did it!  YAS.

Now, it's time to get serious about where it's going in the future.  I'm nervous about this goal because getting serious about growth freaks me out and means I'm serious about growth (redundant, but you get it, right?).  I'm also EXCITED because this is the mission placed on my heart, the legacy I want to leave behind, and one of the ways I serve others with my gifts.

Give more value.  Sharing my heart and helping others delights me. I've got a few great things up my sleeve and a few others percolating in my brain.

Cultivate the client experience.  As my business grows, my client experience does, too!  Loving, encouraging, and serving my clients well is my top priority and finding new ways to do that fires me up.  I want our first moments together (before you even sign!) to be purposeful, sweet, and so helpful.

Read 20 books.  Sure, this one is a little "new year's resolution-y", but I love to read.  And, guess what?  It's the FIRST thing that gets shoved off my life-table (yep, now I'm making up words!).  As part of taking care of myself better, I'm going to make time to read because it's good for me to unplug and helps me continue learning and growing.

All right, I'm digging into creating specific goals for January and ready to get back to work!  It's been great to bring the blog back after a few weeks off with these posts.  Next week Wednesday (and every Wednesday after!), there will be more goodness for both planning your wedding and building your legacy.  I can't wait!
