3 Unique Hamilton Ontario Wedding Venues
Looking for the perfect wedding spot in Hamilton, Ontario? Love places that really speak to your wedding vision or allow you to bring your dream day to life without too many specifications and rules about the design? Want to be treated like family? Here are three unique Hamilton wedding venues that I love to work with. (It should be noted that none of these asked to be on this list or are comping me anything—I just really love sharing with new brides!)
Something many people don’t know about me is that I grew up in Michigan. I’m a dual-citizen living life here in Ontario. Almost eight years ago, I finished culinary school and decided to take advantage of the Canadian citizenship I hold. Though I hadn’t started anything solid in Michigan yet, I picked up my business dreams and moved them to a new country, setting up in Hamilton and falling in love with the industry here. You guys, the sweetest people are part of the wedding world, and I’m so grateful to call so many of them friends. This week, Spunky Sapphire Events turns SIX. (Someday, I should write the story of the name, since I often get questions. Stay tuned.) Anyway, long story short: I’ve worked in a bunch of venues, gotten to know a lot of sweet friends, and experienced a lot of gorgeous weddings.
When it comes to wedding venues, I’m a sucker for a unique spot—either something that has all kinds of character on it’s own or somewhere that has some character but allows for your own unique touch to really bring the space to life. So! If you’re on the lookout for the perfect space to get married and celebrate with your favorite people, I’ve got a few well-loved spots lined up to share with you today.
Embracing the outdoors seems to be a trend lately. It’s gorgeous, so obviously. While barn weddings can be iffy (some have no air-conditioning or no heat, no airflow…all of which you can see could be issues in our unpredictable Canadian weather), Brantview Orchards has the perfect solution. If you want a rustic, open-air orchard, one-of-a-kind spot in the country, they’ve got it! As long as it’s not raining, ceremonies take place in an open field lined in sunflowers—a short, dreamy, through-the-orchard walk away from the pavilion. Yep, it’s as amazing as it sounds. After you’ve said your “I Do” and make your way back up the aisle, the family has poured a complimentary hard cider toast for you and your guests to celebrate with! The covered pavilion boasts original barn beams overhead and allows for the breeze to come through. This spot is perfect for the couple that wants to be outdoors as much as possible. Should it rain or a cool evening is forecast, the open sides can be covered allowing you to still have the cozy environment, but stay dry and warm at no extra cost. The team and family at the orchard are the sweetest and incredible to work with. You’ll really feel like family.
I had the opportunity to work with one of their first clients and will be back this August to share in another special day. Yay!
Want to see more of this beautiful day? Right this way!
Art Gallery of Hamilton
White space has a piece of my heart, for real. If you’re all about that urban life, celebrate art, and want the best opportunity to really create whatever you can imagine, the Art Gallery of Hamilton is the place to be. We designed a retro-Hawaiian wedding there last season, and it quickly reaffirmed why it became one of my top favorite venues. (Fun Fact: Darren and I looked at this venue for our own wedding!) With two walls of full floor-to-ceiling glass and two bright white walls and enormously-high ceilings, the possibilities are endless. The outdoor sculpture garden just outside the room holds gorgeous ceremonies and cocktail hours. Your guests even get the opportunity to peruse the gallery if they have extra time!

Flamborough Hills Golf Club
Love the traditional feel of a golf club wedding? Don’t love the idea of sharing your venue with another couple and their wedding guests? Flamborough Hills Golf Club is the answer. Minutes from the highway, a gorgeous Muskoka-style room that’s conducive to so many wedding styles, flexibility from the staff for photos on site wherever time allows, and a great in-house design team, this place is truly only-yours on your wedding day. A few of my favorite weddings have been hosted here, and it’s always a pleasure.
Proof that rainy-day plan B can be just as beautiful? Look no further.
This area is quickly becoming the ideal spot to say “I do” with it’s close proximity to local highways and quick travel for guests from London or Toronto. These three unique wedding venues in Hamilton, Ontario are beautiful, have great track records, and are ones I always get excited about.
