Hamilton Real Wedding: Sarah + Lionel

Hamilton Real Wedding: Sarah + Lionel

From the moment I met Sarah, listened to her and Lionel’s story and about their sweet little guy, I fell madly in love with this couple. We met almost a year before their big day when I was very pregnant with Maverick, and we quickly got some of her big plans underway before I took maternity leave. With a stellar team including Elizabeth in Love, Warehouse 84, Simply Beautiful Decor, Simply Sealed, Special Event Rentals, La Primavera Farms, and Flamborough Hills Golf Club, this wedding will forever go down as one of my all-time faves. (Everyone is linked at the bottom of the post.)

Our first task was to bring the vision in her head out onto paper. It was one of Sarah’s biggest fears when planning her wedding (that someone wouldn’t be able to help her verbalize it), and it was my pleasure to be able to take care of that concern for her. In her words, “You pulled the ideas out of my head. I trusted you from the onset because we clicked from our first meeting. I saw photos and things you had done and had immediate faith that you’d be able to bring my vision to light. Photo proof on social media and the vision board you designed (I would’ve picked the exact images you chose for it!) were key in establishing faith in you.”

With a classic, lush white floral look mixed with loads of organic greenery, this one is an elegant beauty that hit the nail on the head! We incorporated a few navy-covered guest tables to bring depth to the room, and with the tall, full centerpieces, it was like walking into a magical fairyland. The ambiance is something I want every wedding to replicate.

I honestly don’t know where to start with sharing these beautiful images!

Deandra from Simply Sealed brought stationery goodness to the event with a custom-designed suite that perfectly represented the vision Sarah had for their big day! I’m dying over these stunning detail images.

And, one of my new favourite photos of ALL time…it’s so classic, you could drop it in an era gone by and it’d fit!

One of her top priorities was making sure they could have an outdoor ceremony, no matter what the weather could throw at them. We checked the month-out weather report, and it was looking pretty chilly. All fingers crossed that it’d be wrong; quite frankly, I didn’t think it’d be accurate that far out with our rarely-predictable weather around Southern Ontario. As the week progressed, it was scheduled to rain. Obviously, rain is never ideal on a wedding day, but because we’d set those tent plans, we knew it’d be okay. “Okay” was an understatement: look how pretty!

It was cold (the damp kind!) that day so we spent the morning heating the tent and making sure Katie had everything she needed to bring floral ceremony arch dreams to life. With the dreary fall day trying to wreak havoc on the joy of their day, I hoped the photos would be amazing reminders of everything the day was and a representation of all the hard work Sarah had done. Beth didn’t disappoint (pssst…I never even thought she would!); look at these ceremony photos—you’d never know it was a bit dark in the tent thanks to the clouds! These are definitely some of my favorites from the day.

Congratulations, Sarah + Lionel! It was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the three of you. Thank you for trusting me with the task of making your vision (that you were unable to put into words!) a reality—it was truly a joy to work with you, and I’m grateful for our friendship!

We have to end with the sweetest photo of all time…no, it does not get cuter than this!!
